Welcome!

Welcome to the homepage of the Kamloops Community Band!  We are a fun-loving, non-profit group of musicians who rehearse weekly on a wide variety of concert band music.  We share a love of music and a desire to share this interest with our community by enriching the community culture through performance.

The repertoire of the band includes a wide variety of musical genres that would appeal to any age group, from Classical to popular tunes, including movie themes, jazz, big band, show music, military marches, as well as the compositions of local composers.

The band's members span all ages and backgrounds, and we are always looking for new members to come and join us.  The band meets weekly on Sunday evenings from 7:00pm to 9:00pm in the SouthKam Secondary School band room. New members are always welcome, and no audition is needed, just as long as you are past the beginner level on your instrument!  We are lucky to have two wonderful directors at this time:  Cliff Noakes and Syd Griffith.

The band participates in numerous performances in the Kamloops community over the year, including concerts at retirement homes, community events, and annual performances at Chase in December and at Art in the Park on Canada Day.  Click here for a list of upcoming concerts.  We are always looking for more opportunities to get out and perform in the community, so if you are interested in requesting us for a performance, click here for more information on how to get hold of us.

First rehearsal of 2011-2012 season is on Sunday, September 11 at 7pm at the SouthKam Music room.
